TRACING HIS ROOTS OF TRAP MUSIC

Trap music, a sound that's shaping the modern soundscape, has ancient roots in the Southeastern United States. While its beginning can be traced back to the early 2000s, it was in the latter half of the 20th century that trap truly began to rise. Inspired by the sounds of hip-hop, gangsta rap, and electronic music, early trap emphasized dark, heavy
